25+ years of experience working for direct marketing and advertising agencies, as well as over 20 years of working as an interface designer, project manager, website architect and software developer for associations. Also a former instructor of new media application and programming courses, such as Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Indesign, Photoshop, and Flash (Adobe Animate), as well as a variety of other web-based and print related software applications on a part-time basis.

I’m also an award winning programmer, designer and illustrator.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS
January 2012  – Present
Creative Services, RPAC*

Provide range of creative, digital and technical support to NAR’s REALTOR Party program, a $40 million annual political campaign, as well as NAR’s Communications Department. Design and produce graphics, presentations, logos, and infographics; manage web redesigns; develop email campaigns; and serve as technical lead for e-commerce and financial websites. *Official title: Program Systems Manager

Select Accomplishments:

  • Campaign Development | Graphic Design. Lead designer for development of graphic assets in support NAR’s 50th year commemoration of Fair Housing Act of 1968. Utilized sketching, story boarding and Adobe Illustrator skills to create poster, web banner, social media graphics, and customized landing page that were repurposed into national marketing campaign. 
  • Infographics Development. Designed poster and infographic to highlight results of the Community & Transportation Preference Survey by showcasing notable data points that would bolster survey’s promotion to general public. Final deliverables were integrated into additional marketing materials, such as print and banner ads. 
  • App Development. Partnered cross-functionally to develop social media tool that allowed NAR members to showcase a customized frame displaying their PAC donor levels. Storyboarded UX, designed colored frames, and wrote the code for this award-winning app that earned a Public Affairs Innovation Award.
  • Marketing Assets | Database Design. Developed full suite of marketing assets to promote live coverage of election nights in 2018 and 2020 on NAR website. Designed interactive landing page, email and PPT templates, and social media graphics. Additionally, created backend database to display election results, and the campaigns where members’ RPAC donations were invested.  
  • Grassroots Campaign | Graphic Design. Designed graphics for an online call-to-action advocacy campaign for flood insurance. Provided suite of email, social media tools, and web banners that were repurposed by state and local associations to bolster grassroots support. Resulted in growing member participation from 20% to 33%.
  • Website Development | Project Management. Oversaw marketing agency to transform 40-page print resource guide into complex, interactive website with a built-in enterprise search engine that allowed members to engage with NAR’s robust advocacy efforts. Microsite homepage was white labeled for state and local associations, which created a seamless user experience for members. 
  • Brand Development | Project Management. Created a branded campaign for NAR’s Corporate Ally Program, the consumer/non-member side of RPAC’s donor program. Developed logo, email branding, infographics, and online database; and oversaw marketing agency in creation of select pieces. Launched in 2016, this program raised over $1M at the height of its success. 
  • Asset Development. Designed full suite of marketing assets to promote RPAC’s 50 Anniversary. Created landing page, web banners, email campaigns, print ads, and social media graphics. Promotional materials enabled leaders to promote the anniversary to state and local members. 

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SOCIAL WORKERS
August 2002  – January 2012
Web Manager

Directed the development, design, and upkeep of HTML pages, electronic graphics, CSS, and interactive elements for NASW’s primary website (www.socialworkers.org), an expansive site encompassing over 10,000 pages. Pioneered backend profile management tools, online membership enrollment, and renewal features for a robust member base of 150,000+ individuals. 

Select Accomplishments:

  • Website Redesign | Vendor Engagement. Twice redesigned NASW’s main website: socialwork.org. Strategized cross-functionally to develop content; optimized website for SEO and SEM and marketing campaigns; and provided interface designs, layouts, wire framing, site navigation, and coding. Additionally, developed first iteration of mobile friendly interface and e-learning system. Engaged managed service provider for IT support. 
  • Social Media Management. Established a social media presence for NASW including creating the first Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts, along with multiple video campaigns promoting the visibility of the profession and advocacy initiatives. To date, these videos are among the most highly viewed on NASW’s YouTube account.  
  • Graphic Design. Created suite of visual assets for Code of Ethics course including charts, graphics and illustrations to depict data related to social worker careers. Utilized Photoshop and Illustrator to produce final pieces. Graphics were foundational branding elements for future e-learning courses.  

MHI COMMUNICATIONS March 1998  – August 2002
Senior Graphic/New Media Designer

Managed, created, and maintained all web-related and electronic media efforts in the company, ranging from interactive multimedia and web design to JavaScript and HTML programming, as well as flash and HTML database driven e-mails and self-running kiosk presentations.

Select Accomplishments:

  • Book Illustrations. Used Illustrator to create a series of illustrations that were integrated into a story book promotion design. Partnered with client and senior designer to ensure that illustrations complimented brochure’s overall branding design and style. Received accolades from client for this highly effective deliverable. 
  • Creative Asset Design. Developed suite of branded assets to market a furniture store including rebranding logo; creating print promotional pieces (e.g. postcards, posters, merchandise tags, and wearables); and redesigning corporate website. Branded pieces won the Illustrator’s Club of Washington DC, Retail and Promotion category two years running. 
  • Magazine Illustrations. Produced up to two spot illustrations per month for SHRM Magazine including charts and infographics. Partnered with client to understand article’s concept then executed illustration in the size and style requested. Continued successful deliverables resulted in client engagement extending for ~two years.
